Microblading & Ombré Shading

What is Microblading?

A semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique that creates hairlike strokes to fill in sparse or thinning brows in efforts to achieve fuller looking, more beautiful, and symmetrical face-framing eyebrows.
Microblading is a relatively simple and painless procedure. After numbing the area with a topical cream, the permanent makeup artist uses a pen-shaped tool with very fine needles to deposit pigment into the top layers of skin. Short individual strokes are made so that the markings resemble real eyebrow hairs.
The result is a semi-permanent tattoo that blends with and complements existing hairs for a fuller, more defined brow that looks completely natural.

What to expect during a Microblading procedure

The process takes about two hours to complete, with the first hour devoted to drawing an eyebrow shape customized for each face. Afterward, tiny incisions are made with the pigmented pen on the numbed area so only a slight scratching sensation is felt.

Microblading Healing Process

Healing is not always the prettiest process after microblading but there is no real downtime after the procedure. Dry healing is important for the first week, then apply coconut oil or Aquaphor to the area afterwards.
The following weeks will include periods of mild scabbing as well as the natural cycle of the pigment darkening and fading as it settles into the uppermost skin layers. After about a month, any shape modifications or additional strokes can be made at a follow-up appointment.

What is Ombré Shading?

Ombré Shading is the newest trend in eyebrow semi-permanent makeup. It gives a soft shaded brow pencil look. Once healed, it is more natural looking than solid color. It gives great definition and depth to the brows. Whether the client is looking for a light soft shading or show-stopping bold brows, it can be customized according to the client's desire.

What to expect during an Ombré Shading procedure

The process takes about two hours to complete, with the first hour devoted to drawing an eyebrow shape customized for each face. Once the client has approved the shape, we will proceed with shading of the brows with the Ombré Shading machine.

Ombré Shading Healing Process

It is important to keep the skin dry and avoid picking at the scabs/dry skin. The scabs need to shed naturally. It is also recommended to stay out of heavy sun exposure and avoid any facial treatments throughout the healing process. The complete healing process takes about six weeks at which time the true color and density of the brows are clearly revealed.During the follow-up touch-up, adjustments can be made.

What are the benefits to receiving a combination of Microbladed and Ombre Shaded brows?

The combination of both microblading and shading are becoming very popular. This is fantastic for someone who is looking for hair-like texture, definition and density. Clients with very thin and sparse eyebrows, including those who have suffered from hair loss caused by cancer, alopecia, thyroid, et cetera can greatly benefit from this combo to achieve a realistic look. Depending on the circumstances, microblading alone can look too light. By incorporating some shading, the client can get the density as well as hair strokes from microblading. This combo method is also a better option for an individual with oily skin as microblading alone is not best suited for oil skin types. The constant oil production can cause the hair strokes to heal powdery and diffused.

When should one wait for their follow-up/touch-up?

The follow-up touch-up is usually within six to eight weeks and it's included with the initial session. It is highly recommended that the client takes advantage of the touch-up as the healing results cannot be guaranteed. During the touch-up, we can add more definition and/or density and make other adjustments as necessary.

What are the benefits of Microblading & Ombré Shading?

Save time every morning

If you use pencils or monades daily for your brows, you know how long sculpting good eyebrows take every single day. One Microblading or Ombre Shading treatment can result in one to three years of stunning natural, woke-up-like-this eyebrows that are ready to go without makeup.

Save money in the long-run

While the cost of the procedure is not insignificant, Microblading/Ombre Shading is best viewed as an investment in your look. The number might be intimidating at first glance, but the cost of Microblading/Ombre Shading is actually lower than that of countless products and salon services over a period of years.
Pencils, brushes, fixers, pomades, eyebrow extensions, and tinting may have lower costs, but they require much more frequent use. Ultimately, the cost difference might not be as staggering at first glance. This is, until you factor in the convenience of Microblading & Ombre shading. It's clearly a - NO BRAINER!

Consistency

With Microblading and Ombre Shading, it is easy to maintain a consistent look. If too much is plucked, wared or threaded away, it can be hard to get your original eyebrow shape back. Because Microbladed & Ombre Shaded brows are semi-permanent, little maintenance errors are less noticeable since the pigmented template will remain in place.
On the other end of the spectrum, the lack of absolute permanence also allows for trends to be accommodated as they change every few years. It truly is the best of both worlds.

Water-proof Makeup

Your brows will always look fabulous even in the water. With something as simple as swimming or a sauna session, it is difficult for daily eyebrow products to respond to the demands of day-to-day life. Microblading and Ombre Shading results never budge, and life never has to be planned around avoiding moisture to maintain the full look of fierce brows.

Natural Look

Even with the best products on the market, achieving natural-looking eyebrows is a difficult skill to master. Leave the hard work to us!

Lip Blush FAQS

What is Lip Blush?

Lip Blushing is a form of semi-permanent makeup. Essentially, it is a cosmetic tattoo of the lips that enhances the beauty of the natural lip color, improving the shape of the lips, giving definition and the illusion of fullness in a natural way.

How long does lip blushing last?

The results last between two to five years (or more) before requiring a color refresh. Results are also dependent on how carefully you follow aftercare instructions and how many touch-up sessions you have.

How long does lip blushing take?

A lip tattoo session takes about 2 hours.

How long does it take for the lip blushing tattoo to heal?

It takes around 5 to 10 days for the lips to heal after a lip blushing procedure. Be aware that the color will vary quite a lot during the healing process before reaching the final color that you agreed upon with your permanent makeup artist.

How is the color implanted in the lips?

The natural, blush, candy or “just bitten” look is achieved using a small needle and works softly on the lips to very gently implant the color without creating too heavy of a lipliner/border appearance. Colors are chosen for the client’s desired results and skin tones, but my overall aim is to give lips like and a natural tint without being too dramatic.

Similar to normal makeup techniques, is there a method to contour lips permanently to make them appear fuller?

Celebrity Brows by Akisha Jenee applies color more densely in certain areas of the lips to create a naturally contoured look, blending in with the entire lip.

What does the healing process look like for permanent cosmetic lip pigmentation?

Clients can expect to look like they’re wearing lipstick combined with a lip-filler pout when they leave their appointment! The color looks vibrant the day of and after the appointment. Around day two-three, the lips will softly flake away, and the following day appear almost entirely healed. This soft technique ensures that the lips will heal quickly and with minimal discomfort.

Can I still wear regular lipstick?

Yes. This does not completely replace your lipstick, but gives your lips a natural, blushy tint more colorful than your natural lips. It you are a person that loves the appearance of “no-makeup makeup” and want your lips and face to look colorful and “effortlessly put together” – this is it!

Aftercare

Apply natural vegan lip balm with a cotton tip hourly and they will stay nourished and look glossy, too! Stay away from spicy foods immediately for at least 48 hours.

Lashes FAQS

How long will my Lash Lift last?

On average, it will last 4-6 weeks, depending on your natural lash growth cycle.

How long is the lash lifting process?

Once the lash technician ensures everything is positioned correctly, a lifting lotion is applied to allow the lashes to mold around the curling rod, followed by a setting lotion that sets the lash shape. Expect the whole thing to take about 45-60 minutes.

Will it harm my lashes? Or how will it affect my natural lashes?

The active ingredient in Lash Lift is a perm solution. When performed by a trained stylist and when aftercare instructions are properly followed, your natural lash will not be damaged. Additionally, we treat your lashes with a deep conditioning Keratin treatment which will strengthen your lashes, adding nutrients and deep conditioning.

What happens during a lash lift?

When you walk into your first lash lift, you can expect to lie down on a bed (like the kind you’d get a wax on). But, unlike a wax, you won’t actually be able to see anything, or use your eyes (and therefore, phone) for the duration of your appointment. It’s not painful, but it can be uncomfortable. Your eyes may tear a bit, but fortunately that won’t negatively impact the process.

Can I still wear makeup?

Yes, 24 hours after the treatment. However, you must wear oil free mascara. We highly suggest not using waterproof mascara because it will dehydrate the natural lashes and cause them to break.

Will I still need to use an eyelash curler?

No, that is one of the benefits of a Lash Lift! The natural lash will stay curled throughout the rest of its cycle. Just be sure the lashes stay dry the first 24 hours.

What’s the difference between a Lash Lift and Lash Extensions?

A lift gives a semi-permanent curl to the existing natural lashes while extensions are applied 1:1 on top of each natural lash. Lifting the lashes will enhance your natural lashes. Eyelash extensions give a more dramatic result, but require additional maintenance.

What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are synthetic strands of false eyelashes that are made to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied one by one with professional grade glue. They are lightweight, comfortable and natural-looking way to lengthen and thicken your lash line.
